As principal of the Mercy Convent Primary School it gives me great pleasure to welcome you to our school website. From browsing through we hope you get a sense of our school, pupils, staff and our wider school community. Our school is a full stream girls school with infant boys under the Patronage of the Catholic Bishop of Kildare and Leighlin.
Our school has a long tradition of education in Naas since it was founded in 1839. The school has developed from simple beginnings to the great school we have today. We are currently in the middle of a building programme that will see another new chapter in the history of our school commence. In 2022 we will be opening our brand new, three storey 32 classroom building, associated support rooms, library and large PE hall, the future is certainly bright. To match the new building inside we are installing a 3G astro surface, playground and running track outside and we can’t wait to get the keys of the finished campus.
Our school is defined by high standards of education coupled with experiences in music, art, drama and sport. We aim for every child be given every opportunity to fulfil their individual potential both inside and outside of the classroom. The values instilled by the Mercy Sisters of respect, justice, compassion, excellence and team spirit are still ever present in our school today.
We have an extremely committed school staff that go above and beyond to ensure your child will feel challenged, fulfilled and happy coming to school. There is a strong tradition of excellence in extra-curricular activities such as our school choir, debating, camogie, football, basketball and student committees so to ensure the broad spectrum of interests are catered for. We are supported hugely by our dedicated Board of Management and our Parent Council to ensure we are resourced and supported to make our goals a reality.
